  • 45 watts RMS x 4 at two (2) to four (4)-ohms

Cons

  • Brings total power output up to 45 watts x 4 – including power already supplied by head unit
  • Some users have reported sound quality not quite up to satisfaction

Review

The KTP-445A employs a 45 watt to 4-channel amplifier that brings with it a low noise floor, clean signal path and no extraneous interference.

The end result, according to bench tests, is a one (1)-watt signal-to-noise ratio of 82dB or better; what’s more, the amp distortion actually decreases at higher frequencies, resulting in a clean, clear signal where the ear is most sensitive to such distortion.

Alpine’s inventive Power Pack connects to any 2005 and newer Alpine head unit that boasts a black 16-pin wiring harness. We here at 99carstereo.com advise you to check with us or another mobile audio professional to confirm compatibility with your particular radio.

The Power Pack comes with a 15A fuse installed, 39-inch amp-to-receiver harness, 31-inch amp-to-vehicle harness, two brackets, four screws, four wire ties, installation diagram, online product registration and limited warranty information.

Summary

We have given Alpine products plenty of accolades in the past, and rightfully so – after all, the brand is synonymous with high-quality mobile audio performance, and has been for generations.

Since branching out beyond the products Alpine has been traditionally recognized for (namely competition-grade head units), the company has become a go-to choice for everything from in-dash equalizers to power amplifiers, component speakers, subwoofers, crossovers and more, catering to the needs of every casual and diehard mobile audio enthusiast alike.

The 445A Power Pack is just the latest example of the markets Alpine has tapped into and provided unique products for, offering a solution to those who don’t wish to change their in-dash receiver just to attain a bit more power for their door and deck speakers.

Easy to install, this car amplifier will wake up your speakers without the complications of a large project, coming with everything you need to get the party started…no additional power wiring required.

Simply plug the amp harness between the head unit and its original plug, mount the Power Pack below your glove box or other convenient location, and you’re off.
