For those that want an amp with incredible power with a small size and footprint, the P500X1BD really is worth looking into. While a mono-block amplifier, the P500X1BD produces so much power, that’s all most people will really need, rocking out at a total max power output of 500 RMS.
Features
The P500X1BD, as a mono-block amp, has only 1 ohm and is not able to be bridged. That said, its power more than makes up for this when compared to multi-channel amps. As a BD-class amp, its quality is superior to both the more standard A/B and D class amps.
Its low-pass crossover frequency is at a very respectable range from 50-250 Hz and has a built-in low pass frequency crossover meaning that, when attached to a subwoofer, you won’t have to worry about any issues with outside noises coming in and distorting and degrading the sound quality. They also come equipped with an impressive cooling system known as “Dynamic Thermal Management”, allowing you to enjoy your sound without the amp overheating and cutting out.
While it is arguable whether which is the victor when compared to the Rockville brand, the fact that the two have such a contentious rivalry in quality says all that there needs to be said. These parts are top of the line and are pretty impressive in longevity and durability. While maybe not the best amp that you can possibly buy on the market today, their price compared to the quality really can’t be beaten.
Controls
In terms of control, overall, I found the P500X1BD’s to be quite easy to use. The switches all have a fairly solid feel to them. While this is generally true for all Fosgate products, it seemed more so the case here. They use what is known as a “C.L.E.A.N.” setup, which translates to “Calibrated Level Eliminates Audible Noise”, and is made up of a 10-step procedure.
The amp has a built-in analog computer (NOMAD) that will protect it from shorting speaker wires or dangerously low speaker impedance. The P500X1BD can come with an optional PLC2 remote and has an LED power and thermal protection indicators.

Summary
For those looking for a bd-class amp that is comparable to the higher-end amps while at a very reasonable price, this really is a no-brainer. The amp has a phenomenal sound quality and punches so hard it’ll put a smile on your face.
With its stealth top-mounted control panel and its small frame, it’s pretty impressive and definitely worth looking out for. And while it isn’t the most powerful amp out there, for the vast majority of people it will definitely be more than enough to handle any and all of their needs when driving around or partying out.
